Parish Line Bistro Bar gives a familiar neighborhood hole-in-the-wall in Old Metairie a new life as an upscale restaurant and wine bar. The 1940’s masonry structure was revitalized with contemporary finishes and a brand-new roof deck overlooking historic Metairie Road.
The new design for the space brings together a sophisticated palette of new textures with the exposed bones of the old structure to create a fresh, novel experience. Tufted leather, shou-sugi ban wood accents, and a custom wine display elevate the interior, while exposed cypress roof joists and a splashy feature wall constructed from the old bar’s original glass block accents maintain the space’s connection to its history.

The front façade of the building is re-imagined with folding window openings and a deep steel awning to bring the energy of the space out to the street, allowing diners to invite sidewalk passersby to join them for a drink. The new rooftop deck provides diners with a view out to the neighborhood and down the historic railway that runs adjacent to the site.
This project gives this corner of Old Metairie new life, providing the neighborhood’s residents with a one-of-a-kind drinking and dining experience.
