Harvest Park is a contemporary residential development nestled into the dense woodlands on the northern shore of Lake Pontchartrain. In its initial phases, Harvest Park will have 5 to 10 modern homes ranging from single bedroom / studio sized cabins to large, multi-bedroom vacation lodges. Each site will be designed to fully embrace its natural setting, allowing residents and visitors alike to escape the city and envelope themselves in the natural beauty of St. Tammany Parish. The development will also have a number of shared amenities like a fishing pond, swimming pool, and event pavilion.

Residential development setting

Developed in conjunction with frequent GOAT collaborator Ted Enterprises, the architecture of the development will employ familiar residential forms like the gable & simple shed roof that are easily constructable and recognizable. To create outdoor “rooms”, niches are carved into these forms creating moments of interest and repose.

Corrugated metal panels are the primary exterior finish for the homes’ roofs and walls while at the moments where the massing is “carved”, the resulting spaces will be clad in rustic wood planking. The wood finish of the outdoor niches will continue into the interior where ever possible. Exposed framing and natural wood accents exude warmth and comfort while also maintaining a natural connection to the surroundings. The openings are large and look out into vegetated vistas, allowing the surrounding forest to act as a secondary interior “finish”.  The fixtures and furnishings are also contemporary and provide pops of color and personality.
