EVENT PAVILION @ HARVEST PARK

LOCATION: Bush, Louisiana

PROGRAM: Open-Air Event Pavilion

CLIENT(S): Ted Enterprises

STATUS: Design

PROJECT TEAM: GOAT (Architecture and Interiors)

Harvest Park is a contemporary residential development nestled into the dense woodlands on the northern shore of Lake Pontchartrain. Each site will be designed to fully embrace its natural setting, allowing residents and visitors alike to escape the city and envelope themselves in the natural beauty of St. Tammany Parish. The development will also have a number of shared amenities like a fishing pond, swimming pool, and an event pavilion.

GOAT team: Paula Bechara, Peter Spera III, Colin VanWingen

At its entrance, the Pavilion echoes the residential gable form that is deployed throughout the rest of the development. At each subsequent structural bay, that form is distorted and enlarged slightly, until the structure terminates at a substantially larger hexagonal opening. The effect upon entering the Pavilion is a grand framed view of the woods beyond, celebrating the structure’s site within the forest and providing a lush, natural backdrop for weddings, concerts, and other revelries.
