In 2018, local institution Eagan Insurance completed the purchase of a two-story commercial structure neighboring their Causeway Boulevard corporate headquarters. Eagan engaged GOAT to aid in the redevelopment of the building’s site and exterior facades and to design the interior spaces for use by the Crescent River Port Pilots’ Association (CRPPA).
Formerly a fabrication facility for dental implants, the structure is now CRPPA’s headquarters and base of operations, complete with offices, meeting and event facilities, plus a command center for monitoring and advising traffic on the Mississippi River.
The exterior design is highlighted by a new steel and concrete covered walkway, integrated rain gardens, and a fully refreshed facade. Long an aesthetic detriment to the neighborhood, the new facility and its enhanced site have improved the character of the block and will provide ideal working conditions for the CRPPA team for years to come.
Construction was completed in August 2020 by frequent GOAT collaborator, Perrier Esquerré Contractors.

GOAT worked closely with CRPPA to develop the project’s interior design and implement a clean, contemporary finish palette that complements the building fresh, new exterior. New interior features include an elevator and two-story atrium space with ship inspired tile feature wall, two top-of-the-line kitchen spaces, a conference center for up to 80 guests, an executive board room with a custom Mississippi River inspired conference table, custom designed millwork detailing and Treefrog finished cabinetry throughout, floor to ceiling interior and exterior glazing in every office, and new furniture by Workspace Solutions.
